Load testing

Load testing

Load testing of battery banks is an essential protocol in order to ascertain the capacity of the entire battery installation. However, load testing is actually harmful to the batteries as it creates sulfation build-up and constitutes yet another cycle of the limited cycle lead acid battery lifespan.

Load testing also does not identify individual battery health and can overlook faulty and dangerous cells.

Afribat provides two services which improve on the current process and deliver true capacity data at an individual battery level.

The use of Electro Chemical testing has proven to delivery accurate battery capacity data which negates the need for a damaging load test.

Should a full load test be required, BattMon sensors placed on each battery will report and identify individual battery voltage throughout the process. Monitoring of individual voltage during the discharge process will identify faulty or failing batteries in real time, enabling immediate remediation of problems.

Benefits of load testing service:

  • Reduced damage to battery installation
  • Early identification of individual faulty batteries
  • Extended lifespan of battery installation
  • Reduces load test frequency

This service can be expanded to remote monitoring of load testing through our Continuous Monitoring Service.
